DIRECTOR
Director (french régisseur, régir direct) The director of a sport or television programme is the person who decides how it will appear on stage or screen, and who tells the actors and technical staff what to do. He is responsible for the interpretive aspects of a stage, film, or television production. So he is the one who supervises the integration of all the elements, as acting, staging, and lighting, required to realize the given story, for example an sport event, or a producers's conception. - The director can talk directly to any camera operator or EVS operator via intercom headset. Usually each camera is associated with a number. Replay units are either referred by letter "X" "Y", or by color combo´s "red, blue, green, silver". The director can see every single feed or camera and get cues from a producer (who assures that content are going in right direction). The director's specific job is to make sure they tell the story that the producer wants them to tell. Most of the time, these style-specific issues are worked out ahead of time in tech and talent rehearsals. I started sub directing in athletics and for the Ladies European Golf Tour. Since 2017 i m being part of a great basketball and football producing team. It is every time again a pleasure.
